Where I started
I grew up in the countryside near Târgu Mureș, surrounded by animals. I never saw myself doing anything other than veterinary medicine, and biology always came easily to me.
At university I worked as a swimming instructor and, from my fifth year, as an EEG technician for the patients of Dr. Bogdan Florea, a neurologist and epileptologist. He taught me to read an electroencephalogram and to apply what is known in human neurology to dogs and cats.
Training
After graduating from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca (USAMV) in 2017, I worked for three months in the neurology department of the University of Veterinary Medicine Hanover. I did my PhD in Cluj, on EEG in canine epilepsy, with Dr. Noemi Pusztai as my mentor. I also did placements in Germany, Denmark and Hungary.

DEMED
In 2015 I founded DEMED, the practice I still run today, dedicated exclusively to veterinary neurology. I have worked with more than 500 patients with epilepsy and brought their seizures under control in over 350 of them. I work with a small team. About the practice
Twice I had the chance to work abroad, and I chose to stay in Cluj.
How I see my work
For me, a successful case is one where the seizures are under control and the life of the animal and its family changes as little as possible. Epilepsy is a chronic disease; empathy for the owners matters as much as the diagnosis.
I believe the future of veterinary medicine is teamwork: good general practitioners working together with specialists.
Outside the practice
I have swum for 24 hours without stopping, three times. Endurance sport teaches you to push through the hard patches, and that shows in my work too.
